The song became a long-running hit, and in the same year, SMAP (a top male vocal group) sang a rendition of Yamazaki’s song “Celery” which became a huge hit as well. While writing songs for other artists, he has made numerous recordings and live performances as a singer himself. In 2005, on the 10th anniversary of his debut, he starred and also directed a movie which proves what a multi-talented visionary he is. The same year, he held a concert with the participation of a 20-member string orchestra conducted by prominent conductor Takayuki Hattori.
